Women in Governance (WiG) is proud to present a panel discussion composed of esteemed members of our Parity Certification’s consultant partners: Gordon Frost, Partner and Ottawa Office Leader at Mercer Canada, Ofelia Isabel, Market Leader at Willis Towers Watson, and Zoya Zayler, Inclusion & Diversity Lead at Accenture. Caroline Codsi, WiG’s Founder and Chief Equality Officer will moderate the webinar, which will explore the latest innovative trends in D&I, intersectionality, unconscious biases, and more!

Madona El-Hajj, Director of Operations, Parity Certification at WiG will touch upon the 2020 certified organizations’ cohort dynamics, with a particular focus on best practices to increase parity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She will also moderate the public Q&A session.

This virtual event is part of a series of forums offered to organizations enrolled in the Women in Governance Parity Certification. While the panel discussion is open to the public, the interactive sessions following—facilitated by D&I specialists and focusing on a curated selection of hot topics—are exclusively reserved for certified organizations.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Gordon Frost is a Partner and a member of the Canadian Leadership Team at Mercer Canada. As Ottawa Office Leader, he leads a team of professionals who strive to understand organizations’ needs and help them build healthier and more sustainable futures for their employees. He also leads Mercer’s Public Sector industry team, which specializes in addressing the unique challenges of governments, crown corporations, universities, municipalities and other public sector organizations. Gordon is on the Board of Directors of Project Terra Firma Canada, which employs a private equity approach to investing its business and resources to assist sustainable economic development, social growth and well-being of peoples in developing communities. He holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor degree in Commerce with great distinction from McGill University.

Ofelia Isabel is Market Leader at Willis Towers Watson (WTW). A connector and a driver of change, she focuses on the success of WTW’s clients and colleagues. She has 30 years of experience in designing and implementing solutions to address the changing needs of businesses and their people. Ofelia is dedicated to working with organizations to improve their people performance and how they manage risk. She has held various leadership roles and worked with organizations across a range of industries and geographies. She is a Canadian Human Resources Leader, an iPEC-certified coach, as well as a qualified actuary. She earned an honours degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo and completed the Advanced Program in Human Resources Management at the Rotman Business School (University of Toronto).

Zoya Zayler, Inclusion & Diversity Lead for Accenture Canada, has been recognized as one of the top professionals of the HR industry in Canada by being listed in the 2018 edition of HRDC’s Rising Stars report. She is responsible for influencing the most senior business leaders to embrace I&D commitments and, as a thought leader, Zoya advises business units on innovative ways to attract, retain, and advance diverse talent. Prior to joining the Accenture Canada HR team, Zoya was part of the global inclusion & diversity center of expertise, where she led the Pride at Accenture program, dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace for LGBT people across 59 countries. In this role she had numerous achievements, notably collaborating with the United Nations on the Standards of Conduct for Business on Tackling Discrimination Against LGBTI People.

Caroline Codsi is the Founder and Chief Equality Officer of Women in Governance (WiG), Canada’s preeminent non-profit created in 2010 with mission to help women access decision-making bodies and male dominated fields. A Citizen of the world having lived on three continents, Caroline was born in Beirut and grew up through the civil war. A highly sought-after speaker, Caroline has addressed audiences across the globe, including two TEDx. Widely quoted in national and international media, she is the recipient of numerous awards from prestigious organizations such as the United Nations’ Women’s Committee, the Quebec Business Women Network, The Federation of Chambers of Commerce or the New Delhi Women’s Economic Forum, to name a few. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau nominated Caroline on Canada’s National Gender Equality Committee and Mayor Valérie Plante on the City of Montreal’s Business Committee. She was also recognized as a Top 20 Diversity Leading Figure in Quebec, Top 75 Canadian Immigrant, Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada and Top 100 Entrepreneurs changing the world.

Madona El-Hajj arrived in Canada at a young age, completed her studies in Industrial Relations at the University of Montreal, and a Master of Organizational Management at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. Her passion for helping others reach their full potential has led her to several coaching training programs. Prior to joining Women in Governance, she led the human resources function in a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, and hospitality. Equipped with experience in HR planning, HR tool and process deployment, performance management, HR audit and coaching, complemented with her passion, empathy, and dedication, she joined WiG to contribute in bringing sustainable change in gender parity and inclusion.
